Director of Weekday Childcare

Director of Weekday Children’s Ministry

Emily gordon

I have been on staff at West End for over 20 years, and I have had the pleasure of watching this program grow over the past nine years. When I think back to the years spent planning and praying over this program, I am overcome by how God has truly grown it into a ministry that has served this community so well.  I have over 30 years of experience working in many different aspects of early education. It brings me great joy to see people dive into deep relationship with others and the Lord. My true desire is that we will make lasting memories with your children and send them to kindergarten with a deep love for learning and God’s Word firmly tucked in their hearts.

My husband Ray and I are high school sweethearts. We have been married for 25 years and have two adult children. Our home is a revolving door of teenagers and young adults, so our pantry is always well-stocked! We also enjoy spending time outside on our 10-acre farm that we lovingly call Blackberry Springs.

Assistant Director of Weekday Children’s Ministry

Kristen Bowen

I’m married to my high school sweetheart, Thomas, and together we have two school-aged boys. We recently moved to Charlotte and are originally from Tampa, FL.

With over 3 years of experience in early childhood education, including teaching and previously serving as a Director, I’m thrilled to join the WECC MDO team this year!

I’m looking forward to supporting the team and fostering growth in the kids’ love for the Lord.

As a Nashville native and dedicated dog mom, I bring over 8 years of experience in early childhood education to my new role. I have taught here at WECC MDO in the 2B class. This year, I've decided to broaden my horizons by joining the administrative team to gain a deeper understanding of its workings and to infuse fresh, innovative ideas into our approach. I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to connect with and support our children and their families. I am confident that my background as an MDO teacher and my passion for fostering positive growth will enable me to excel in this new position. I look forward to the challenges and learning opportunities that lie ahead and am excited for a fulfilling year.
